Institute of corrosion control systems engineering

There are 18 teachers in the institute, including 8 professors and 6 associate professors. In recent years, it has undertaken and participated in more than 30 national and provincial-level projects such as “973”, “863”, science and technology support plan, national natural science foundation, and national key R&D plan, and more than 300 horizontal projects. Received 3 national awards, more than 10 provincial and ministerial level awards; more than 10 results appraisal; more than 50 patents; the first corrosion related paper in China published in journal of Nature, Furthermore, published more than 500 papers in domestic and foreign journals, citing more than 5,000 times; it has published more than 30 monographs and textbooks; 5 post-doctoral students, more than 140 doctoral and master students.

The institute is centered on the construction and operation of the national material environmental corrosion platform. For a long time, a lot of work has been carried out in the fields of field observation and research station construction, material corrosion data accumulation and sharing services, material environmental corrosion information construction, material environmental corrosion standard construction and talent team training. It has provided important support for national economic construction, major project construction and national defense construction.

The institute has won the "National Field Science and Technology Advanced Collective" of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the "Outstanding Team Award for the 11th Five-Year National Major Science and Technology Program", and the American Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) 2016 Outstanding Group Award.
