General introduction of the laboratory

The Institute of Industrial Environmental Corrosion and Control has 1 professor and 3 associate professors. Focusing on the petroleum, chemical, electric power and other fields, the basic research of corrosion is based on the research of corrosion mechanism under the interaction of chemical-mechanical-microbial-electric field.The following three research directions are mainly focused on: corrosion mechanism under chemical-mechanical-microbial-electric field interaction; interaction mechanism of multi-gas phase-solid phase particles-alloy elements in corrosion process; high resolution in-situ research on corrosion electrochemical process and mechanism. In the basic research of application: new R&D materials and new cathodic protection technologies. The laboratory was built as the first corrosion-resistant steel corrosion laboratory approved by China Classification Society with national CNAS and CMA qualifications, and participated in the construction and management of national material environmental corrosion platform. The staff of the research institute undertakes eight key projects from the Ministry of Science and Technology and National Natural Science Foundation of China, two national open laboratories projects, and nearly fifty industrial research projects. We participated in a number of “973”, “863” projects, science and technology support projects, and national science and technology infrastructure platforms. Our research results have won a number of provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards, and developed a series of corrosion test devices with independent intellectual property rights. A large number of research results have been promoted and applied in industrial enterprises, and have obtained significant social and economic benefits.
