On May 11, 2019, the First Teacher-Student Comprehensive Sports Meeting of the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering was successfully held in the playground. University leaders attending the opening ceremony of the Games include Guilong Wu, Chancellor of University of Science and Technology, Beijing; Jianxin Xie, Director of the Academic Committee of the School of Materials Science and engineering; Jingang Dai, Vice Chancellor and Secretary of Discipline Inspection Committee; Anyang Zheng, Director of the Party Office and School Office & Executive Deputy Minister of the Party Committee Propaganda Department; Chengwen Yu, Minister of Teacher Affairs; Cong Ma, Deputy Minister of Student Affairs; Li Wang, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Youth League; Xiaojie Liu, Deputy Director of the Admissions and Employment Division; Haibo Dou, Deputy Director of the Sports Department; Luning Wang, Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering and leaders of relevant units of the Faculty of Materials Science. The opening ceremony was hosted by Jianlin Sun, deputy director of the Faculty of Materials Science and Engineering and vice president of Institute for Advanced Materials and Technology.

                                             

At eight in the morning, the opening ceremony officially began. The flag banner array first entered, and they carried the flag past the rostrum, and they were full of vitality. The undergraduate, the teacher's and the graduate's phalanx then entered the playground in order, showing their strength and confidence with a calm pace.

Subsequently, a solemn flag-raising ceremony was held on site. Junpin Lin delivered the opening speech on behalf of the School of Materials Science and Engineering. On behalf of athletes Yunhui Zhang and Yu Yan, and referee Yingwen Ding swore under the flag.

In this game, the Institute for Advanced Materials and Technology organized more than 200 athletes to compete with the athletes from the School of Materials Science and Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of New Metal Materials. In field events, track events, group projects, fun projects, and parent-child projects, they thoroughly sweated and immersed in the joy of sports. They also received cheers and laughter, showing the teachers and students seeking truth, innovation, and striving for first-class spirit and healthy outlook.

At 5 pm, the first comprehensive teacher-student sports meeting of the School of Materials Science and Technology ended successfully with warm applause. Each unit of the Faculty selects the group award and the spiritual civilization award.
