Zhimeng Guo, born in 1959, Ph.D. in Engineering, Professor, PhD supervisor. Now he is the director of Institute of Powder Metallurgy. He graduated from University of Science and Technology Beijing with a bachelor degree in 1982. And then he worked in China Nonferrous Metals (Gulin) Geology and Mining Co. Ltd from 1982 to 1983. In 1986, he graduated from University of Science and Technology Beijing with a master degree and has been a teacher there since then. In 1993, he received a doctor degree from University of Science and Technology Beijing. From 1994 to 1996, he stayed in Tokyo Institute of Technology as a visiting scholar and conducted research on self-propagating high temperature synthesis (SHS).

Scientific research achievement :

Prof. Zhimeng Guo conducts research based on basic application and technology innovation. To date, more than 180 patents have been applied and 140 ones have been authorized. Besides, four international patents have been applied and authorized. Four books have been published. Over 120 papers have been published in the international and domestic academic magazines and conferences. Furthermore, more than 80 papers have been collected by SCI, EI and ISTP. Scientific research projects undertaken include National 973 Projects, National 863 Projects, National Natural Science Foundation Projects, National Key R&D Program of China, Production-education-research projects of Guangdong, National Defense Project, and cooperation projects with enterprises. Major honors include fourth prize of National Scientific and Technological Invention, second prize of Scientific and Technological Progress of the Ministry of Education, and two ministerial second prizes of Scientific and Technological Progress. Receiving a government special allowance since 2000.
