Shengen Zhang, Ph.D., from Leping city Jiangxi Province, born in 1970, is a professor of University of Science and Technology Beijing and State Department Special Allowance Expert. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Material Processing Engineering from Central South University in 1998. Now he is the deputy dean of Institute for Advanced Materials and Technology, council member of Chinese Materials Research Society and vice president of China Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance for Secondary Resources. The main research fields include materials recycling, rare earth materials and hazardous solid waste utilization and harmless treatment.

Scientific research achievement :
He has hosted national R&D projects, including “Tenth Five-Year” National Key Project for Science and Technology, National Science and Technology Support Project, National High-tech R&D Project (863 Plan), Key Project of Chinese National Project for Fundamental Research and Development (973 Plan), Military Supporting Facility Research Project, key project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, “Made in China 2025” Integration of Green Key Process Systems MIIT, Industry-University-Research Cooperation of Provincial and Ministry key projects, and international cooperation projects. He has obtained Second Rank of National Technological Innovation Award (first prize winner), four First Rank of provincial-level prizes (3 times of first prize winner), Chinese Patent Excellence Award and Second Class of Beijing Invention Patent Award. He has published 159 papers, 3 books, and has been applied 131 Chinese invention patents and 86 of them were authorized, 4 US patents. 11 PCT. A number of research achievements have been transferred to enterprises for industrialization or pilot tests.
