Personal profile:
Liu Wei is currently an Associate Professor at Beijing University of Science and Technology. He obtained his Bachelor's degree (1992) at the Department of Material Science and Engineering of Zhejiang University, his Master's degree (1997) from Northwest Polytechnic University, his Ph.D. degree (2001) from Metal Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2001 to 2003, he worked at the Institute of Metals of the Chinese. Academy of Sciences and the postdoctoral mobile station of Northeast University, respectively. From 2003 until now, he works at the Center for Corrosion and Protection of the University of Science and Technology of Beijing and has been a doctoral supervisor since 2013. He was appraised as a senior corrosion engineer at the research level by the China corrosion Society in 2008. From 2013 to 2014, he was a visiting scholar at the Corrosion and Multiphase Flow Technology Center of Ohio University. He has undertaken the key special projects of the national key R & D program, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the national material environmental corrosion platform project, the national science and technology support plan, the national 973 and 863 projects, the oil and technology innovation fund, more than 60 national and industrial projects, which are from the CNOOC, China Classification Society, CNPC and steel companies. He has trained 67 master's degree students and 11 doctoral students and has participated in 4 teaching materials, translated 2 books, published more than 60 papers and 11 licensed patents at home and abroad. As the person in charge, he built the first corrosion-resistant steel corrosion laboratory approved by the China Classification Society and qualified by national CNAS and CMA. From 2004 to now, he is responsible for Master degree class: “Corrosion and Protection” and undergraduate students class: “Corrosion-resistant Materials and Protection techniques corrosion resistant Materials and Protection Technology”, “Metal corrosion Science”.
