Xiaogang Li , born in 1963, professor and doctoral supervisor; Director of the national corrosion platform for materials and environment, executive vice President of the Chinese society of corrosion and protection, director of the key laboratory of corrosion and protection of the Ministry of Education. Chief scientist of Marine corrosion project 973, director of the international corrosion council, deputy editor of NJP: Material Degradation. One of the leading academic leaders in the field of material environmental corrosion and protection in China. Long-term adherence to the fundamental research on the application of material environmental corrosion mechanism, obtained the corrosion rules of steel, polymer and other materials in the atmosphere, soil and marine environment; led to create the largest domestic material environmental corrosion test and shared standardized platform and the largest amount of corrosion Database; developed the theory of corrosion resistance control of low alloy steel and obtained industrial application, developed 15 kinds of corrosion resistant prototype steel, industrialized production of more than 2.6 million tons; developed a series of new technologies for environmental corrosion test, provided technical support for solving material corrosion problems in major projects such as aerospace, ocean and petroleum, solved the major corrosion problem of "Tiangong-1", provided an important scientific basis for its on-time launch, and made creative contributions to the development of China's material environmental corrosion discipline. Published 429 SCI/EI articles, cited total of more than 6,000 times, representing work: share corrosion data in the journal of Nature; publishing 13 monographs (10 first authors), translated a book, he presided over the editing and published the first “Progress Report on Corrosion Discipline” and one Ministry of Education Planning Textbook; and authorized 65 national patents. He has trained 7 post-doctors, 54 graduated Ph.D. students, and 85 graduated masters. He has won 2 second prizes for national scientific and technological progress (ranked first); 7 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological progress first prizes (ranked first); and 5 first prizes for industry (four ranked first). He was awarded the title of "National Excellent Science and Technology Worker", "Beijing 100th Leading Person in Science and Technology" and "Beijing Teacher Model", and was awarded the Outstanding Team Award of the National Major Science and Technology Plan of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" and won the Outstanding Team of the American Society of Corrosion Engineers, he has already had an important influence in the international peers.

Scientific research achievement :

l Leading the establishment of a new national material environmental corrosion test platform system, long-term adherence to material environmental corrosion field test and data accumulation, and serialized original results in the study of corrosion behavior and mechanism of natural environment (atmosphere, soil and seawater). More than 800 papers have been published in professional journals including "Nature", 429 articles in SCI (EI); 11 monographs in publishing;

l Established a new system for environmental corrosion test and evaluation technology in China in the new era, providing a key basis for the development of corrosion resistant materials and equipment for anti-corrosion material selection and life prediction projects, directly for “Tiangong-1”, “Off shore Aerospace Equipment” and “Island” Support for safety evaluation and corrosion protection of oversized projects such as reef construction, west-to-east natural gas transmission, large aircraft, and super-large oil platforms;

l Based on the research of a large number of corrosion data and regular mechanism, through the research of micro-alloy composition regulation, microstructure regulation of micro-nano scale, influence of inclusions on corrosion and electrochemical evaluation of micro-area corrosion, the comprehensive cooperation of industry, academia and research with companies such as Nanjing and Anshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. He has developed more than 10 series of new varieties of corrosion-resistant steel products, which further improved the composition and organization of corrosion-resistant structural steels in China, and achieved industrial scale production;

l As one of the earliest promoters of scientific data sharing project in China, the corrosion database and data sharing platform with the largest amount of data in China were built. The original concept of “corrosive big data” and the theoretical framework of “corrosion informatics” were proposed. The technical system has created a new mode of networked sharing of corrosion data, which has played an international demonstration effect.
